Closing August with Thankful Heart

Back in August 2020 I thought my life was about to end. It was an uneventful Thursday afternoon. Five months into the pandemic, the whole world is still trying to figure out how to control peoples movements, watch how the virus behaves, trying to go on with their economy.

The headlines of all news outlet is full of covid 19 related stories. Europe was reeling with the record breaking deaths of old and vulnerable people. US was struggling to find a consolidated effort across all countries to find the vaccine for this virulent pathogen. Despair, hopelessness and what seemingly is an unless supply of negativity continues to roam social media. It was this same month 2 yeas ago when I had a bike accident.

After all, they are supposed to treat the bacterial or viral infection and kill it, instead of making the hole bigger! Guess when age is catching up, all elements of the body are weakened by the constant barrage of bacteria and virus all around us.

Moral of the story – one can age and let the body fade, but so long as the spirit is strong, one can soar…

August 2022 – NDP

The recent NDP celebration hilited the last time the event was to be staged in the Marina Bay Platform following the renovation of the Kallang Stadium. This meant for the last 10 years or so, the celebration is synchronized between at least 2 major venues, the Platform and the Padang. Either way, coordination between sites is a challenge -an understatement.

Now with the accident involving a Red Lion paratrooper, event organizers will now be pressed harder to perhaps return to the Stadium area. With cost an escalating issue with govt, some buzz is underway for 2023. Unless a govt top honcho will decide to host somewhere…
