2021 – Singapore Stocks investment

So 3Q 2018 is when I invested in the singapore money market.

I chose the following for good reasons.

  1. Comfort delgro – taxi companies,
  2. keppel corp- predicting oil to rise
  3. singtel – telco is always good on dividends
  4. starhub- back up telcon
  5. csi global – oil trading

Result as of May 2021?

Profit gain of about 180 dollars for the sale of CSI global and comfort delgro.

But Loss of about 35% for the 3 stocks namely Singtel, starhub and keppel corp.

My lessons learned?

  1. Sound company fundamentals does not work if unprecedented event like covid hits.
  2. Even the big ones fail!
  3. cut your loses while you can, instead of total wipe out.

So what is my 2021 plans?

  1. Invest in REIT
  2. Picked Maple tree at 2.8 per share and about 500 shares
  3. Picked capital land at 1.3 per share and bought 1000 shares.

Lets see what happen by the end of the year.

First Quarter Storm – 2021

The first 3 months of the year has been a whirlwind!

January saw me organizing my workplans, school plans, and health and well being.

February at work is all about planning for things to be accomplished for the year. On the health side, Im trying to regain back my swing. So my first 18 hole at sembawang was accomplished!

Then came March: its madness! I started my 2 vlogs, one on music and another on golf. And because its my birthday month, its been golfing left and right. Played sembawang again. Not too bad. Played Marina Bay too. And of course Changi. Twice! Been scoring steadily on the low 80s! Good sign! .

April is supposed to pick up pace on everything. At least from my non work life pace. On the work side, the government declared RTW (return to work) for all non essential sectors, first April week 2, then April week 3. Everyone is on the edge. Is it safe? Is the virus under control? Well workwise, its a steady resolution of issues. On my school, its papers up down left right. I got my vaccine April 12. First shot. No issues. Just fatigued and sore arm. I said, is that it??? On my golf game, my first ever Sentosa round is up and coming. Along with Seletar game. Guess what-everything appears on the good side. Last week of April saw cases started to pick up. First at Tan Tock seng, then Changi Airport. Public is on edge. Then came the major blow on the Bukit merah market where elderly stall holders infected others along with visitors to their shop!

Then came May. A weird start to the pre Mid year. Got my 2nd shot-May 10 to be exact. First night, quite rough. About early morning, felt a slight chill and fever. Day 2 came. Headache, slight fever, body ache. Typical flu like symptom. I said, this too shall pass. On the community, Covid cases started to sprung up. Finally. Govt brought the hammer down. On May 15, announcement came. Its Phase 2 CB. WHAAT! To add insult to injury -the 2nd shot appears to have impacted by immune system! It attacked nerves on my face resulting in Bells Pallsy syndrome! Was scary like hell!
