CoVid for first born too

And so the regimented testing began. Yesterday, Jan 28, it was the frontliner boy who was tested positive. We kinda expected it, given the nature of his work.

Then today, jan 29, it was the first born. Not a surprise too, given their rooms are next to each other and they share PC games. Well, what do boys do these days anyway.

So far, 3 of us, wifey, youngest boy and myself are all negative on ART test.

Aiyoh!

January 1, 2022

Have we… learned our lessons last year? made adjustments how we ought to live our lives? fulfilled our promises to friends and family? achieved the goals we wanted to pursue? endured hardships? extended our patience? strengthened our resolve? increased our empathy? accumulated worthwhile experiences that money cant buy? forgiven our foes? Stretched our imagination? Flexed our muscles? inspired the helpless? Made fun of ourselves? Sold our woes ? Bought more happiness in the people, places and events around us? Sought refuge to our creator when no one else is around? Confessed our sins? Honored our commitments? Thanked the Lord for all He has done for us?If we have not, then 2022 is another hopeful year to try one more time.I pray for all of us to be a better version of ourselves this 2022!

Thus my reflection as I sit on my computer, looking back at 2021 and looking forward to 2022.

So how did Jan 1, 2022 differ from 2021?

Looking back, here’s a rundown of the events and things in 2021.

PERSONALLY:

1. On my relationship with the Lord, it was nothing short of spotty. My prayer life has been scant. My relationship with people has been limited to my classmates, golf mates, family members and my immediate kids and wife. Other than that, I lost track with most acquaintances. Of course my close in friends remain intact.

2.  You tube: I started a you tube channel in 2021. In fact, organized my you tube channel to make it classified into (1) Golf adventure (2) Cycling vlog (3) My amateur song compilations and family related videos that I have captured over the years! Not to mention, maintaining also Rory’s you tube as well.

3. UP Masters Completed! Im about to complete my 3 year Masters program for public administration.4. My autobiography: Started writing back in the early part of 2021. Im about 50% done as of December 2021. Rescheduling new target by mid of this year. Im using Amazon Kindle to publish. Some friends have already made promise to buy.

FAMILY

1. On the family front, well, my first born son has declared his desire to settle down! Yes, it is. Dec 2021 saw them announcing in public their desire.

2. Finally, my parents getting Covid is something that none of us anticipated. With my mothers birthday falling in 2021, soon after she got a stroke in July and Covid in September.

WORK FRONT:

1. On my work front, back in the early part of 1Q2021, I lost my mentor to retirement. It was surreal to be honest.
2. As if to add insult to injury, the whole dept I belong to was endorsed to another division.

As I sit on my computer to reflect on 2022, the year is another blank canvass for us to write on.
